Year 1 Stay and Play

29th November 2016

We have had a busy few weeks in Year 1…

We have created a living volcano using props, music, drums and drama.  It was a fantastic experience which helped us with our descriptive writing about volcanos.  We have also learnt about Neil Armstrong and experienced our first ever journey into space, landing on the moon and becoming weightless (yes, it all happens in Year 1)!

We wrote diary entries about our day as Neil Armstrong and then read these to the children in Reception who gave us fantastic feedback.

This week we welcomed many parents into class for a Stay and Play session.  We created a space setting as part of our Talk for Writing and met Sir Vocab who encouraged us to use fantastic adjectives.  A BIG thank you to everyone who joined us for the afternoon, we had great time.
