Our exciting Inspiring Writers' groups are run each week in Key Stage 1. The sessions are planned taking into account the children's personal interests. Through this personalised learning approach, and using the great outdoors, our children are inspired to develop their writing ideas and skills. The 'hands on' activities encourage children to talk through their ideas and then write them down in a style of their choice.
This term the children have baked delicious banana cake and have advertised it for sale to their friends in our school and written pages for a recipe book. They have also developed storybook characters through the use of props and role play and created camoflaged super heroes to use in their own comics.
The Inspiring Writers' groups are weekly highlights here at HCIS.
